The Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council, Cllr Breandán Fitzgerald, officially launched the Community Support Fund 2025 on Friday, December 13, 2024, alongside Chief Executive Mr. Martin O’Donoghue. This initiative aims to support community-based projects and initiatives throughout County Kerry.
The council is inviting applications from local groups focused on the development or promotion of their communities, as well as projects benefiting specific community groups. The funding falls under five categories: Connected, Inclusive & Resilient Communities; Community Tidy Town Initiatives; Community Economic Innovation; Community-Based Tourism; and Local Community Safety Initiatives.
With a total of €850,000 available this year, now in its eleventh year, the fund has previously provided millions to various community groups. "This vital funding stream has enabled voluntary and community organizations to upgrade facilities and enhance local services," stated Cllr. Fitzgerald, encouraging groups to apply promptly.
