A captain of a Royal Navy ‘Hunt’-class mine countermeasure vessel, which had visited the Isle of Man this week, told Manx Radio his crew was delighted to witness the TT.
During its visit to the Isle of Man, HMS Middleton (M34) had taken a berth in Douglas Harbour until yesterday (2 June), having previously been based in Bahrain in the Persian Gulf.
Aside from watching some of the TT racing action, officers also got to see a Manx-built three-wheeled micro-vehicle, the Peel P50, up close when one was winched onboard.
Commenting on the port visit of the Manx capital, Lieutenant Commander Rob Garner said the crew had a 'good run ashore' (the radio station has more along with an audio clip).
The hauling onboard of the 1960s-built Peel single-person vehicle was part of a training exercise with the Manx Motor Museum team.
