Irish Lights, the lighthouse authority for Ireland, is publishing its new five-year strategy this week.

The strategy will be unveiled at the Commissioners of Irish Lights headquarters in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, on Thursday morning (April 10)

Entitled “Safe Seas - Connected Coasts 2025-2030”, it is “set against the backdrop of the critical importance of the sea to the island of Ireland, and the challenging nature of the waters around our coast”.

“Safe navigation is a prerequisite for maritime safety, trade, offshore energy, security and the protection of the environment,” the authority says.
