Shipping Review: Report on ISSC, Arklow & Ardmore Add Ships, Meeting at Irish Europort

#Ports&ShippingReview – Over the last fortnight, Jehan Ashmore has reported on the shipping scene with the following stories below.

An independent report by SEMRU of NUI Galway claims that a planned International Shipping Services Centre (ISSC) could put the Irish capital on a par with established hubs internationally.

Arklow Shipping Ltd's oldest tonnage sold as the last of a trio of 'V' class sisters, Arklow Venture was disposed having dry-docked in Dublin Port for new owners.

As above the Co. Wicklow based shipping company with a division based in The Netherlands is where a new generation of 10 newbuilds of 5,150dwt are on order. The leadship Arklow Vale which is taking shape (see footage).

On the theme of shipbuilding, Ardmore Shipping Corporation likewise continue an upward trend in newbuilds under construction with a third 25,000dwt tanker of four delivered by a Japanese yard.

Rosslare Europort (operated by Iarnród Éireann) held its first Stakeholder Advisory Group meeting to discuss the future of the port with representatives among them from shipping operators, port staff, business and tourism groups.
