Dramatic video shows the moment when stacks of shipping containers toppled into the water from a cargo vessel docked at a California port last week.

As Marine Industry News reports, the Portuguese-flagged container ship Mississippi was berthed at the Port of Long Beach south of Los Angeles on Tuesday 9 September when part of its payload toppled into the water — some hitting a clean-air barge tied alongside.

In total, 75 containers of “general cargo” — ranging from clothes to electronics — fell into the harbour in the incident, but a port spokesperson confirmed that no one was seriously hurt, describing it as a “miracle”.
