The Irish Marine Federation (IMF), which represents Ireland’s marine leisure and boating industry, will hold a board meeting at the Düsseldorf Boat Show this Wednesday, 21 January.
Outgoing can-do chairman Gerry Salmon will stand down when his term comes to an end this week.
Salmon's tenure featured several new marine trade initiatives, not least a boost in membership following a number of regional networking events and new ties with the British Marine Federation.
Salmon thanked the board for "its commitment and support over the past two years". “I wish the new incoming chairman well,” he said.
The election of the new chairman and the leadership transition are expected to be addressed at the meeting.
The Düsseldorf show is one of the world’s largest marine trade events, attracting industry representatives from across Europe and beyond.
