Ireland's sailing and marine community will miss out on the Ocean Film Festival World Tour in 2026 after organisers confirmed there are no screenings planned for either the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.
The festival returns to venues across the UK from 5 September until the end of November, bringing a new programme of short films celebrating ocean adventure, marine wildlife and the people working to protect the sea.
This year's line-up includes the story of the world's longest raft expedition, bodyboarding grandmothers, a penguin rescue centre and other inspiring tales from the marine world.
The annual tour is aimed at audiences with an interest in sailing, surfing, diving, paddlesports and marine conservation, showcasing films that combine exploration, endurance and environmental awareness.
Responding to an enquiry from Afloat.ie, tour manager Rosie Fuller confirmed there are no Irish dates planned.
The tour opens in Edinburgh on 5 September before travelling to cinemas and theatres across England, Scotland and Wales until late November.
While there is no Irish venue this year, organisers have indicated they hope to bring the festival to the island in the future.
