The Department of Transport has been advised that a geotechnical survey will be undertaken in the Irish Sea on behalf of McMahon Design and Management.

The survey work was anticipated to start on Friday 26 July and will continue to Friday 30 August, subject to weather and operational constraints.

The geotechnical survey will follow two cable routes with start and end point locations listed in Marine Notice No 45 of 2024, attached below.

The survey will be conducted by the survey vessel Glomar Vantage (callsign HO3057). Due to the deployment of towed survey equipment from the vessel for the duration of the survey activities, the survey vessel will be restricted in its ability to manoeuvre and as such other vessels are kindly requested to keep a wide berth.

The vessel will display appropriate lights and signals. Mariners are advised to keep continuous watch on VHF Channel 16 when navigating the area.

A map and full coordinates of the survey area, as well as contact details, can be found in the Marine Notice attached below.
