A lone sailor was assisted by Rosslare Harbour RNLI after his yacht developed engine trouble off Kilmuckridge, Co Wexford.
The sailor raised the alarm with the Irish Coast Guard when the vessel became disabled at sea.
Volunteer lifeboat crew launched and reached the casualty vessel in calm conditions with good visibility, the RNLI reported on March 21st.
On arrival, the crew assessed the situation and carried out repairs on site.
The yacht was subsequently able to continue its passage safely.
Lifeboat Operations Manager Jamie Ryan commended the response and the sailor’s actions.
He praised the decision to seek assistance early and noted the sailor had appropriate safety and communication equipment on board.
The volunteer crew involved were Coxswain Keith Miller, Mechanic Micheal Ferguson, and crew members Derek Treneman, Conor Barry, Cian Barry, and Eoghan Quirke.
