A lone sailor was brought safely to Rosslare Harbour after his yacht began taking on water off Raven Point, Curracloe, on Saturday afternoon.
Rosslare Harbour RNLI was tasked by the Irish Coast Guard after the skipper of the eight-metre yacht raised the alarm while in difficulty off the Wexford coast.
The station's all-weather lifeboat launched at 4.23pm and reached the casualty vessel 10 minutes later.
After assessing the situation and speaking with the lone sailor, the volunteer crew found the yacht was taking on water.
A decision was made to establish a tow and bring the yacht to the safety of Rosslare Harbour.
The vessel was secured alongside Berth 4 at 5.35pm. The sailor was uninjured.
The lifeboat returned to station at 5.45pm, where it was refuelled, washed down and made ready for its next callout.
Conditions during the rescue were favourable, with good visibility, a north-east Force 4 wind, a slight swell and no rain.
Rosslare Harbour RNLI Launch Authority Aidan O'Sullivan praised the volunteer crew for the successful outcome.
He also reminded sailors of the importance of carrying appropriate communications equipment and wearing suitable safety gear.
He urged anyone in difficulty on the water to contact the Irish Coast Guard immediately by calling 999 or 112.
The volunteer crew for the service were Coxswain Eamon O'Rourke, Mechanic Keith Morris, Navigator Samuel Kelly, Paul McCormack, Stephen Breen, Séamus McDonald and Séan Cullen.
