Wicklow-based Mills Design is preparing to launch a new 40-foot racing yacht aimed at the Admiral's Cup, with sailing trials scheduled for January.

A new 40-foot Admiral's Cup racing yacht designed by Wicklow-based naval architect Mark Mills is nearing completion at Carrington Boats in Southampton, England.

Named Bullit, the latest Mills Design project is being developed for Class 2 of the Admiral's Cup, with the design office reporting that the yacht is approaching the final stages of construction.

In his latest design update, Mills says an experienced building and sailing team is involved in the project, with the first sailing trials planned for January 2027.

The new design has been developed using high-end milled tooling, which Mills says would allow further examples of the yacht to be built.

The new yacht is being developed ahead of the 2027 Admiral's Cup, scheduled for 13–28 July.
