It is three months until racing begins at the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta Sardinia. Women and Youth sailors will compete alongside primary America’s Cup teams in fleet racing.

Teams are expected to field second AC40 boats crewed by a mix of Women and Youth sailors. The initiative is designed to widen participation pathways within the Cup.

Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team will campaign two AC40s in Sardinia. One will be sailed by its primary crew, the other by Women and Youth sailors. The format offers emerging talent a direct opportunity to race against established Cup teams.

Organisers say the approach aims to build squad depth while maintaining competitive intensity. Racing in Sardinia begins in three months.
