Canada Ocean Racing has announced that British offshore sailor Pip Hare will join their Be Water Positive campaign for The Ocean Race Europe 2025.

Hare will sail with Canadian skipper Scott Shawyer and the four-person crew for every leg of the race. She brings a wealth of offshore racing experience to the team.

“Pip is a ruthless competitor with a huge heart,” said Shawyer. “Her tenacity, experience, and humanity will be a huge asset to us.”

Hare gained prominence during the 2020–21 Vendée Globe, captivating thousands with her competitive spirit and was then dismasted in the 2024 race, but has consistently inspired others in the IMOCA fleet.

Hare’s involvement comes as the team prepares for their new foiling IMOCA yacht, which will be announced soon. The Ocean Race Europe will serve as a crucial testing ground for the team.

“I’m really excited to join Scott and the Canada Ocean Racing team,” Hare stated. “The Ocean Race Europe offers a challenging course and I look forward to unlocking the boat's full potential.”
