The Sovereigns Cup/Irish Cruiser Racing Association (ICRA) Nationals organiser reports a strong response for June's edition off the coast of Kinsale in County Cork.

“Entries are well ahead of expectations,” Cup Director Michael O'Sullivan told Afloat, with 54 boats registered, surpassing 2023's figures.

The 2025 edition of Kinsale Yacht Club's Sovereign's Cup runs from June 25-28.

The competition boasts diverse participants, with fifteen entries from Kinsale and seven from UK clubs, while 32 boats represent twelve other clubs nationwide.

As Afloat reported earlier, ICRA has revised the IRC and ECHO Boats of the Year formats, a move designed to increase regional participation, including racing at the National Championships.

Additionally, a ‘Ladies Lunch’ will take place on Friday, June 27, to support ‘Dogs for the Disabled’. Spaces are limited; for reservations, contact via email.

Entry details can be found at ‘www.sovereignscup.com’. Early bird entry fees end on Friday, 14th March.
