Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta IRC Class 0 went bonkers on the tie breaks, as John Minnis's A35 Final Call from Belfast Lough blew what had been an extremely good scoresheet until today (Sunday), when she slipped back to a fourth. This meant they were level on 10 points with the Corby 37 Impetuous from SCYC, Abersoch (Ben Hodges), and the Evans Brothers J/112e Big Picture from Howth, but the tie-break techniques saw Final Call first, Impetuous second and Big Picture third.

CLASS 0 ECHO

Impetuous was in the frame in ECHO too, winning overall on 2,2,2,2,1,(4), while Jonathan Nicholson's El Pocko from RStGYC was second, and Michael Browne's veteran Dubois Victric takes home an ECHO third overall to Strangford Lough.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
