The Royal St. George Yacht Club in Dún Laoghaire will host the World Sailing Awards on 5 November 2025. This prestigious event celebrates achievements across the sport of sailing.

The awards will be presented during World Sailing's 2025 Annual Conference that takes place at Dun Laoghaire Harbour on Dublin Bay, Ireland.

As Afloat reported previously, the conference, headed up by World Sailing President Quanhai Li, brings together 400 international delegates from around the world to plan future events and shape the direction of the sport. It celebrates the achievements of sailing on and off the water and puts Dun Laoghaire on the world map as the hub for sailing ideas and collaboration. The bid is supported by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.

The awards honour individual and crew accomplishments, along with contributions to technology and sustainability.

Nominations for all categories are open until 30 September 2025. This includes the highly sought-after Rolex World Sailor of the Year award. Last year, Diego Botin and Florian Trittel received the men's award, while Marit Bouwmeester was named the top female sailor for the second time.

David Graham, CEO of World Sailing, stated, “The World Sailing Awards recognise and honour excellence, achievement and innovation in sailing." He emphasised the excitement of celebrating this year's stars and emerging talent.

The Royal St. George Yacht Club, established in 1838, is the largest yacht club in Dún Laoghaire. With a distinctive Georgian clubhouse, it provides an ideal venue for the awards.
