Dublin Bay’s offshore fleet faces a light-wind test this weekend as Viking Marine ISORA Coastal Race 2 adopts an 18-mile course.
Race organisers confirmed the route following updated weather forecasts indicating light southerly breezes across the bay.
The course starts at 11 am at the Dún Laoghaire outfall (good spectator views from the West Pier) before heading to the Muglins, which must be left to starboard.
Boats then proceed south to a Bray virtual mark at 53°11.00’N, 06°00.00’W, to be left to port.

The fleet returns north to round the Muglins again, this time to port, before finishing between the Dún Laoghaire pier heads.
Organisers described the course as a “punt” based on forecast conditions, with average winds expected between 5 and 7 knots.
As Afloat reported previously, a fleet of 23 entries is set to contest the second race of the ISORA coastal series.
The light airs are likely to place a premium on tactics and tide management along the Dublin Bay track.
