The Irish International 420 Class has announced the Junior Europeans Team that will represent Ireland at the upcoming event hosted by Club de Vela Atlantico in Portugal.

Four Irish Teams have been training hard since their qualification after the Irish Sailing Youth Championships in April, with a warm-up event in Kiel where all the sailors performed well. The event will run from 20th July to 27th July, with racing starting on 22nd July for 5 days of high-performance racing featuring over 230 boats.

The Irish 420 Team consists of the following sailors:

  • Cora McNaughton (Blessington SC) & Sean Cronin (Malahide YC)
  • Isha Duggan (Royal Cork YC) & Tommy Hires (Royal Cork YC)
  • Margherita Ruggeri (Royal Cork YC) & Matt Mapplebeck (Royal Cork YC & Kinsale YC)
  • Niamh Lynch (Waterford Harbour SC) & Grace Kelliher (Waterford Harbour SC)

Next on the 420 Class calendar is the DinghyFest hosted by the Royal Cork YC over the weekend of the 19th and 20th July, with a dedicated 420 class start.
