The 2027 RS Feva and RS Tera World Championships will be held on Italy's Lake Garda, with Circolo Vela Arco confirmed as host for the back-to-back youth sailing events. The championships will take place from 21 to 31 July 2027 on the northern shores of Lake Garda, one of Europe's best-known dinghy sailing venues.

The RS Feva World Championship will open the programme, with registration, measurement and training on 21-22 July before racing from 23-27 July. The RS Tera World Championship will follow immediately afterwards, with registration and training on 26-27 July and racing from 28-31 July.

Circolo Vela Arco president Massimo Cagnoni said the award was "an important recognition not only for our club but also for the entire Garda Trentino region". "We expect to welcome nearly 400 sailors, coaches, support staff, family members and sailing enthusiasts," he said.

Cagnoni said the club's focus would be on delivering a world-class event while showcasing the region's sailing conditions and hospitality.

International RS Feva Class chair Bruno Tamburini welcomed the championship's return to Italy. "For the third time in less than 10 years RS Feva Worlds return to Italy," he said. "The north of Lake Garda is a well-known sailing spot hosting more than 70 sailing events during the year."

Tamburini said Circolo Vela Arco's experience in hosting major dinghy events made it an ideal venue for the championship. The combined schedule has been designed to make it easier for families attending both events, reduce travel requirements, and allow competitors to remain at the venue throughout the championships.

International RS Tera acting vice-chair Marcus Collingbourne described Lake Garda as "one of the premier sailing venues in the world" and said the class was delighted to bring its world championship to the lake. RS Sailing head of commercial Michiel Geerling said the consecutive events would provide young sailors with an opportunity to compete at the highest level while strengthening links across the wider RS community.

Charter boats are expected to be made available through RS Sailing, while further information on entry and registration will be released by the respective class associations. The same Lake Garda region will also host the 2026 RS Feva European Championship later this year, offering competitors an opportunity to gain experience of local conditions ahead of the 2027 world championships.
