Defending champions Brian Cullen and Ann Kirwan's Bandit lead the Irish Ruffian 23 National Championships by five points after five races sailed on Dublin Bay.

The National Yacht Club entry leads former champion, Trevor Kirkpatrick at the helm of Northern Ireland entry Carageen from Carrickfergus with up to three races left to sail.

Lying third in the 15-boat fleet – drawn from seven different clubs – is Brendan Duffy and Enda Brennan's Carmen of the host club, the DMYC on Dun Laoghaire's West Pier.
