Lough Erne Yacht Club, the Upper Lough in County Fermanagh, has every reason to be proud of its two young Topper sailors who raced in the Topper 5.3 Worlds at Medemblik in the Netherlands.
Adam Green finished fifth overall, counting two first places in the nine-race series, and Ben McAldin was 19th in the 131-strong fleet from all over the world.

Both qualified for the Gold Fleet in a week of contrasting conditions with strong wind at the start and much lighter, shifty airs at the end.
Adam reflected on his performance: "It was pretty amazing seeing my name further up the results sheet than I expected. On the penultimate night, I was in 13th position and was hoping for a top 10 finish, but to come away in 5th was amazing. I've learned loads and gained confidence that I raced hard with these amazing sailors"
Adam has followed his win in the Irish Topper Nationals at his home club recently, and Ben, his third overall in the same event, has also achieved respectable results in the Worlds. Now, both boys will compete in the British Nationals in Largs, Scotland, next week.
At the RYA Youth Nationals in September at Ballyholme, Adam will represent his school, Banbridge Academy.
