Twenty-one boats turned out for the AIB DBSC Water Wag race on Wednesday, May 6, in a south-easterly breeze of around 10 knots on Dublin Bay.

The race marked the opening tie in three class trophies. Division 1A boats were competing for the Newsom Memorial Cup, Division 1B for the Hilpotsteiner Tankard, and Division 2 for the Phyllis Cup.

Race officer Tadgh Donnelly, aboard DBSC committee boat Corinthian, set a three-round windward-leeward course. The fleet made a clean start in steady conditions.
