Royal Cork's J/122 Jellybaby double win in Cowes Week 2024 in August was applauded at home on Sunday with a special presentation in Crosshaven.
As Afloat reported previously, the conclusion of an often-breezy Cowes Week 2024 brought a special double success for the keenly campaigned Crosshaven cruiser-racer.
The Jones family’s J/122 Jellybaby (Royal Cork YC) was consistently at the front of IRC Class 2, slipping up only with a second place in Race 2 and an OCS the following day. A fourth place in Friday’s race was sufficient to secure overall victory in class, four points ahead of another J/122 Team Bulldog’s Bulldog.
Jellybaby’s performance also earned them the Newcomer’s Trophy.
The summer feat was recalled last night before RCYC's Autumn League prizegiving by Admiral Annamarie Fegan who, along with a packed clubhouse saluted the Solent performance.
