The Irish Team Racing Association’s Annual Champion in Schull was very much a special target for the defending champions from neighbouring Baltimore Sailing Club, though whether the term “friendly rivalry” would apply is a moot point. Be that as it may, as they retained the title in sometimes decidedly difficult conditions from 19 challenging squads, we feel it’s only right and proper to name the lot of them, even if there is a flavour of the Western Station of the Water Club of the Harbour of Cork about them. They were Johnny Durcan, Fionn Lyden, Mark Hassett, Adam Hyland, Amy Harrington and Tara Fleming, and well done all.

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.
Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
