A diver has died during preliminary operations to recover the Bayesian superyacht off the coast of Sicily.
As the BBC reports, the accident happened late last week off Porticello, and police said the cause of death was unknown.
Seven people, including British tech tycoon Mike Lynch and his daughter Hannah, died when the yacht sank on August 19th last year.
Local Italian media have reported that the diver was a 39-year-old Dutch national who worked for a specialist salvage company.
The cause of the sinking is still under investigation, and British marine consultancy TMC Marine is overseeing the salvage operation, which involves some 70 specialist staff.
It is being led by Dutch-based companies Hebo, a maritime services company from Rotterdam, and SMIT Salvage, along with support from Italian specialists.
