Sail Training Ireland has announced its 2025 Voyage Calendar, aiming to engage over 500 young people across thirty voyages on six ships. The initiative, which was unveiled today, builds upon the charity's successful history, having already provided self-development training voyages for over 4,000 participants since its inception.
Bookings are now open for new projects, including STEM at Sea Ocean Science voyages, Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges, and local initiatives in major Irish ports. Many voyages offer funding to make them accessible for those facing financial constraints.
Sail Training Ireland prioritises inclusivity, with 30% of 2024 participants identifying as having a disability or additional needs. The organisation appreciates the ongoing support from its partners, including the Department of Defence and Dublin City Council.
Daragh Sheridan of Sail Training Ireland expressed enthusiasm at the launch: "We look forward to welcoming new trainees aboard one of our 2025 voyages. With the addition of the stunning Blue Clipper, we hope to offer even more opportunities to young people in Ireland. Join us for what promises to be our best year yet!"
Early booking is recommended to secure a spot. Interested individuals can visit the Sail Training Ireland website for more information.
