Sail Training Ireland has announced limited availability on a series of spring voyages across Irish waters, targeting young people and adults. The programme includes a Youth Adventure Voyage for 14–17-year-olds aboard the tall ship Maybe, sailing from Belfast to Dublin from 4–8 May.

A separate under-18 voyage will take place on Ilen, departing and returning to Galway from 26–30 May. For young adults, a bursary-supported voyage for those aged 18–30 is scheduled on Ilen from 8–12 June, also based in Galway.

A mixed-abilities voyage for adults over 18 will run on Maybe from Dún Laoghaire from 11–15 May, offering places for participants and accompanying carers or friends.

Sail Training Ireland said places are limited and expected to fill quickly, with bookings now open online. The organisation encourages interested participants to apply early or contact its team for further details.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
