“Swimmin' Women”, aqua aerobics and artistic swimming are among community programmes which Swim Ireland has planned for the winter.

Accessible lessons in Dublin and Cavan, and parent and toddler lessons in Cavan are also on the schedule.

The “Swimmin Women” programme offers an introduction to swimming and aqua aerobics for mid-life women.

The six week programme starts next Monday, November 4th, at 1300 hours at the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin.

Each session involves a 40 minute swim or aqua aerobics session with certified instructor and life guard, and is open to those aged 18 years and over.

Tickets cost €30 (plus 7% processing fee per ticket), and participants receive swim hats, menopause and swimming informational pamphlet and drawstring bag as part of the booking.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
