The Department of Transport has been advised that a subtidal benthic ecology survey will be undertaken in the Irish Sea (off the coast of North County Dublin, Meath and Louth) from next week.
The survey will involve the deployment of Hamon grab and drop-down video equipment from a survey vessel at specific locations within the array and cable corridor area run from 29 September 2025 to 27 October, subject to weather and operational constraints.
The survey will be confined to distinct locations within the proposed North Irish Sea Array (NISA) offshore wind farm (OWF) and cable corridor area, a total of around 125sqkm.
The survey will be conducted by the Rós Áine 1 (callsign EIZG5) which will display appropriate lights and signals. Mariners are advised to keep continuous watch on VHF Channel 16 when navigating the area.
Coordinates and a map of the survey area as well as contact details can be found in Marine Notice No 56 of 2025, attached below.
