Minister of State for Nature, Heritage and Biodiversity, Christopher O’Sullivan TD, today (June 18th) opened the Shipwrecks of Dublin Bay exhibition at the Dublin Port Substation.
As Afloat reported earlier, the exhibition is a partnership between Dublin Port and the National Monuments Service, highlighting more than 900 known wrecks that lie in Dublin Bay.
Minister O’Sullivan said: “Dublin Bay has a rich maritime history and, with that, come stories of loss, hardship and heroism. This exhibition shines a light on some of the 900 known wrecks in the bay and the stories that surround them.
“I congratulate Dublin Port and the National Monuments Service on this impressive historical collaboration and encourage people to visit the exhibition.”
The exhibition runs from 18 June to 18 September 2026 and is housed in the Dublin Port Substation on East Wall Road. Admission is free and the exhibition is open to the public on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am–3pm.
It forms part of the Port’s Summer Events Programme 2026, which aims to foster stronger port-city integration and highlight the deep historical connections between Dublin Port and Dublin City.
