As 2025 approaches, Bádóirí an Chladaig says a fleet of vessels lit up in the Claddagh Basin will mark the turning of the year.
The fleet illuminated with green lights is supported by Galway City Council and local businesses and has become an annual symbol of the western capital's festive season.
The vessels include gleoiteog beag Réalt na Gaillimhe; the gleoiteog Manuela which is named after the late Swiss teenager Manuela Riedo who was murdered in Galway in October 2007; the leath-bhád Meaircín Joe; and the 43-foot Clondalkin community-built Galway Hooker Naomh Cronán.
Peter Connolly of Badóirí an Cladaig says the vessels will remain lit up in the Claddagh basin until January 10th.
