IMDO Appoints New Business Development Manager

In her new role, Kate Farrell will lead activity focused on advancing the profile of the maritime industry, supporting sustainable growth across the sector

The Irish Maritime Development Office (IMDO) has announced the appointment of Kate Farrell as business development manager.

With over 20 years’ experience in the maritime industry, Farrell has a strong track record in delivering strategic initiatives that support sectoral growth and collaboration.

Most recently, she led the successful delivery of the MaritecX/CMMI project on behalf of the IMDO and the wider Marine Institute, working closely with national and European partners to strengthen maritime capability and innovation.

In her new role, Farrell will lead business development activity focused on advancing the profile of the maritime industry, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and supporting sustainable growth across the sector.

Farrell will also lead the development of international partnerships across research and industry, supporting the growth of Ireland’s reputation as a compelling place to do business in this sector.

Commenting on this appointment, IMDO director Liam Lacey said: “I am very pleased to welcome Kate to the team as business development manager and look forward to working closely with her in her new role, in an industry that is currently undergoing significant change and presenting interesting challenges.”
