The Department of Transport has been informed that the Irish Air Corps intends to conduct an air-to-ground firing exercise within the confines of the EID1 Danger Area firing range, east of Gormanston in Co Meath, this week.

Defence Forces personnel will utilise Air Corps helicopters and weapons of varying calibres up to 12.7mm. The exercise will be conducted from Monday 25 to Friday 29 May, from 9am to 9pm each day, subject to weather and operational constraints.

Firing will be conducted from Gormanston Army Camp and will take place over water in the Irish Sea to the east of the camp. The maritime area will be patrolled by a Naval Service vessel and/or Air Corps RIB.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
