Children and parents from Groomsport Parish Church’s Sunday Fun Club visited Bangor Lifeboat Station to present the volunteers with a £300 donation following their successful art exhibition.
Last Saturday (14 June), Bangor RNLI on Belfast Lough in Northern Ireland welcomed a visit from Rev Elliot Swattridge and some of the children.
Following a tour of the station, the children then presented the Bangor crew with a cheque for £300.
Ryan Young also presented the crew with a framed original creation for the ‘Lionhearted Lifeboats’ school art exhibition. The picture is of lifeboats and rescue helicopters in action and now has pride of place in the crew changing room.

The kids then tried on some of the crew lifesaving kit, including lifejackets and helmets, while learning about the RNLI’s mission to save lives at sea.
Speaking after the visit, Rev Swattridge said: “The RNLI is a charity very close to our heart. This small donation we pray will help save lives at sea and help the volunteers in their lifesaving efforts.”
