There will be strong westerly winds for the first races of Calves Week 2025 Regatta at Schull Harbour in West Cork this morning (Tuesday, August 5th).
A skippers' briefing confirmed the racing area is Long Island Bay and the Fastnet Rock. All races are scheduled to start near Copper Point or Inside Harbour, and finish inside Schull Harbour.

As Afloat previously reported, with over 70 confirmed entries, the event is a competitive meeting of Dublin and Cork boats, particularly in the White Sail division, which makes up nearly half the fleet. The 2025 fleet allocations are below.

The fleet will meet under ORC handicap for the first time after the popular event amended its Notice of Race to introduce the rule alongside IRC and ECHO handicaps.
The first gun for all classes is at 11.30 am this morning. The daily prizegiving is scheduled for 6.30 pm at the Schull Harbour Hotel.
