Baltimore's Sea Festivals Gearing Up For Warmer Weather

West Cork's happening place.....Baltimore's three day Woodenboat & Seafood Festivals hope to benefit from warmer weather this coming weekend

West Cork is supposed to be an easygoing and laid back sort of place, so this coming weekend's three day double bill Woodenboat and Seafood Festivals in Baltimore face the challenge of putting through mind-bending but supposedly "pruned and tuned" programmes, while appearing to be relaxed and ready to enjoy the warmer weather that the meteorologists all agree is on the way.

We say "pruned and tuned", for although Afloat.ie published a programme here earlier in May, as late as Sunday evening (May 16) there was some fine tuning going on to keep the show on the road and within manageable proportions. Nevertheless the choice of activities available continues to be mind-bending, but that's the way they do things down there as winter becomes a memory, and Baltimore leaps to life.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
