To absolutely no-one's surprise at this stage, Conor Haughton of Wicklow with the neat J/24 Jupiter had a clean run of firsts under IRC in Class 3 of Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta to finish on five points, so any excitement was for second overall, where Archie Malcolm in the U25 scheme from Howth with sister-ship Kilcullen tied on 14 points with Daithi O Murchadha of Tralee Bay SC with the former Olympic Soling Santoku, but Kilcullen had it on the break.
ECHO Honours for Jupiter too
As with Class 2, the winning Jupiter in Class 3 ECHO was such an improving boat that ECHO couldn't unseat her, and she wins overall here too, with three firsts and two seconds. However, there's a new name in second with Andrew Riches of Blackpool & Fleetwood YC with Gerda, but then TBSC and Daithi O Muirchadha with the Soling (oddly enough still raced as a class at B&FYC) take third.
