Dun Laoghaire will host over 400 international delegates for the 2025 World Sailing Annual Conference across its yacht clubs and the Royal Marine Hotel.

Dun Laoghaire Harbour will take centre stage next month as it hosts the 2025 World Sailing Annual Conference.

As Afloat reported previously, more than 400 delegates from over 60 countries will gather from 2nd to 9th November at the Royal Marine Hotel and three waterfront yacht clubs — the National, Royal Irish, and Royal St. George.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council played a key role in securing the high-profile international event.

“This is a unique opportunity to showcase Dun Laoghaire’s facilities and extend a warm club welcome to our guests,” a council spokesperson said.

Delegates have been offered honorary membership of the three hosting yacht clubs for the duration of the week.

The conference programme, published on World Sailing’s website, features a range of meetings and sessions, many of which are open to observers. Sailors are encouraged to attend sessions relevant to their interests.

The Royal St. George Yacht Club will host the World Sailing Awards on 5 November

While online registration has closed due to high demand, Irish club members can still register in person at the Royal Marine Hotel or by contacting Ciara Dowling at [email protected].

Local organisers say they look forward to welcoming visitors and showcasing Dun Laoghaire’s maritime community on a global stage that begins on November 3rd with an opening reception hosted by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Cathaoirleach at the National Yacht Club.
