Andrew and Sam Hall's Lombard 46 Pata Negra of North Wales made short work of ISORA's James Eadie Race on Saturday (September 6th), crossing the Irish Sea from Pwllheli to the Kish Lighthouse in seven hours and eight minutes to take a line honours win and the overall ISORA Musto 2025 Offshore Series prize.
As Afloat previously reported, going into today's race, three boats or more could still win overall, but today's strong south–easterly conditions were well-suited to the fast-reaching Lombard design, and challenges from closest J122 rivals Aurelia and Mojito never materialised, both retiring off the Dublin coast with bad spinnaker wraps.
The final race day of 2025 didn't entirely belong to the Halls, however, as another father-son team, Justin and Nathan Burke, in the Class One JPK 10.30 Request, clinched the overall IRC win in Saturday's race, beating the Class Zero Pata Negra in the 80-miler to claim their first ISORA cross-channel victory of the season and follows a coastal night race win in August.
Finishing third in line honours was David Townsend's A35 Pillaban.
Pata Negra was the Class Zero winner, Request took Class One, and Class Two went to the J109, Indian (Simon Knowles)
Results are provisional and based on the tracker, with at least one tracker not working.
