West Kirby's Patrick Bromilow and Thomas Kelsall finished top of the 50th anniversary 31-boat Irish International 420 Class Association National Championships after eight races sailed in Cork Harbour at Crosshaven.
The Merseysiders finished two points clear of Waterford Harbour SC's Max Sweetman and Fionn Lynch. In third place were day one leaders Cora McNaughton and Sean Cronin of Blessington SC and Malahide YC, who shared the same points as Sweetman and Lynch but lost out on countback.
The event marks a special birthday for the 420 class as it celebrated its 50th anniversary this weekend.
The championship is one of three this weekend at Royal Cork Yacht Club as part of the 'Tri Championships 2024', the other two being the Irish Fireball Class Association National Championships 2024 and the Irish 29er Class Association National Championship 2024.
