Ollie Groves and Esther Parkhurst claimed victory at the RS400 Eurocup UK National Championship 2025. They topped the leaderboard after a high-stakes competition at the Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club.

Robert Espey and Michael Ferguson finished second overall and were crowned Irish National Champions. There was just a two-point gap between the top teams, intensifying the final day’s tension.

The final day of racing faced cancellation due to extreme weather conditions on Belfast Lough. Winds reached up to 28 knots, prompting officials to postpone the races for safety. Competitors expressed their disappointment but acknowledged the decision’s necessity.

In total, 28 teams competed in the championship. Groves and Parkhurst's outstanding performance secured them both the Eurocup trophy and national title. They received accolades from Race Officer Sheela Lewis and Event Director Gerry Reid for their exceptional sailing skills.

Awards were presented in several categories. Peter Kennedy received 1st Grandmaster and Master Trophies. The Robinsons won the Family Trophy, while Andrew and Leon Mullally secured the Holt Trophy for Youth Helm & Crew.

Ollie Groves expressed gratitude for the organisers, stating, “The hospitality shown to us was second to none.” He also thanked his partner Esther, saying, “I am immensely proud of her and she will soon be my wife!”
