The RS400 Winter Series is returning to the Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club for its 19th edition on Belfast Lough.
The event follows last year’s celebration marking 20 years of RS400 sailing at the club in Cultra.
Racing takes place over eight consecutive Sundays from 2 November to 21 December, with a 1.30 pm start each week and three short races scheduled.
Organisers describe it as “one of the biggest one-design winter sailing events in Ireland”, attracting strong fleets despite colder conditions.
Former winners Peter Kennedy and Stephen Kane of RNIYC headline the early entry list as they aim to reclaim the trophy. “We’re looking forward to getting back on the water,” they said.
Club-mates Ross Kearney and Andrew Vaughan are also expected to challenge after previous podium finishes.
Carrickfergus Sailing Club pair Jocelyn Hill and Rowan Berry are tipped to be competitive, while Strangford sailors Tom Purdon and Olivia Hayes return as regular contenders.
Neil Calvin and Sharon Corkhill of Carrickfergus join the fleet again this year, alongside veteran helm Liam Donnelly, sailing with Katy Nelson.
Organisers expect around 18 entries, with additional boats anticipated for the Christmas Race on 21 December.
Racing begins this Sunday at 1.30 pm at RNIYC, Cultra.
