Admiral's Grand Soliel 40 has Perfect Scoreline
The Admiral's Grand Soliel 40 Nieulargo (Annamarie and Denis Murphy) leads a six-boat class one fleet with a perfect scoreline of three wins on IRC. In their performance so far in 2024, the Murphy's topped ICRA's mid-season national Boat of the Year rankings, and RCYC's Autumn League counts for overall points in the annual ICRA competition. The Jones family's J122 Jelly Baby (with Cian Jones absent due to completion in the Champions' Cup, as Afloat reports here) lies second, counting 7 points from 2,2,3 race results. Third is Paul and Deirdre Tingle's X4 Alpaca on 11. The winner was repeated on the ECHO handicap, but Alpaca took second ahead of Jelly Baby.
McCann's Etchells 22 Dominates Class Two IRC
The one design Etchells 22 Don't Dilly Dally sailed by Michael McCann eclipsed the performance of the all-beating Farr half-tonner Swuzzlebubble (James Dwyer) with three race wins to lead by four points in Class Two IRC. Lying third in the nine-boat division are Colman Garvey and Kieran Kelleher Dubois, and Quarter Tonner Diamond is one point behind on eight. On ECHO Diamond leads from Don't Dilly Dally and Swuzzlebubble is third.
'Prince of Tides' Leads Non-Spinnaker Fleet in IRC and IHS
In the league's biggest fleet of 14 boats, Frank Caul and John Molloy Grand Soliel 37B Prince of Tides lead the non-spinnaker one, IRC Fleet, on five points. Aidan Heffernan's Dehler 36 Indulgence lies second, and Ian Hickey's Granada 38, Cavatina, a double Round Ireland Race winner and recent ECHO winner in the RCYC Naval Race, lies third. The results are repeated on the IHS handicap in this division.
