Shane MacCarthy and Hugh McNally of the National Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire, sailing Mr. Potato Head, lead the Irish Flying Fifteen National Championships after two races sailed in light winds and strong tides at Waterford Harbour.
The former GP14 World Champion counts a 3,4 to lead the 19 boat fleet by a point from Neil Colin and Margaret Casey of the RStGYC in Ffuzzy on eight. Lying third is Strangford Lough duo Emma Pierce and Ian Smyth in Stiffler's Mom on nine points.
The first day's racing on Friday was lost due to a lack of wind, so the Race Officer has amended the sailing instructions to run four races instead of the scheduled two on Sunday.
