The 'largest sailing ship in the world' and probably one of the largest ships to anchor in Belfast Lough at 138 metres in length arrived in the Norhern Ireland port on Tuesday, (June 18th).
She is the youngest of the Sea Cloud Cruises fleet, built in 2020 and inaugurated in 2021.
Harbour Master Kevin Baird and Assistant Marina Manager Tommy Burns presented Captain Stojanovic with a small gift on the Sea Cloud Spirit's inaugural visit to Bangor. They noted how luxurious she was and remarked on the classy varnish and brass.
The Sea Cloud Spirit website says, “The youngest member of the SEA CLOUD family offers plenty of room for individuality in addition to genuine windjammer romance”.
Kevin said that “Thankfully, the wind has started to ease this afternoon (18th June), making it much easier to operate the tender vessels. Sea Cloud Spirit is set to depart at approximately 1700 hrs, heading next to Dublin. We wish everyone onboard a safe and pleasant voyage. Bon voyage, Sea Cloud Spirit”.
