Liam Jegou battled back from a rough first run in the C1 men’s canoe slalom at Vaires-sur-Marne on Saturday (27 July) to secure a spot in the Paris 2024 semi-finals, as RTÉ News reports.
“It was probably the hardest day I've had on the water in my my life,” said the Ballyvaughan paddler, who came back from his 17th-place first run to shave nearly nine seconds off his time and finish 16th overall in his second Olympic Games.
The C1 men’s semi-final is scheduled for Monday afternoon 29 July at 2.30pm Irish time.
