This Christmas, countless children will experience the joy of their first bike ride - what better place to make it unforgettable than the Dublin Port Greenway?
Since its launch in September, the Greenway has welcomed 42,000 visitors, including 8,000 cyclists, to this spectacular Dublin amenity.
Dublin Port recently hosted six-year-old Fletcher from Cabra in Dublin and his dad Warren, as Fletcher took his brand-new bike for its first spin on the Greenway - a moment filled with joy.
The Greenway offers something for everyone: a child’s first ride, a family cycle, a leisurely stroll, or even a relaxing picnic. It’s also a favourite for dog walkers, with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the scenery and fresh air.
This heartwarming video of Fletcher’s first cycle captures the season's magic and is sure to spread festive cheer.
Claire Percy from Dublin Port said: “It was wonderful to have Fletcher and his dad Warren at the Dublin Port Greenway recently. A first bike ride is a magical milestone, and we hope the Greenway will be the backdrop for many more special moments this Christmas.
“Since opening, we’ve been delighted to welcome some 42,000 visitors - including 8,000 on bikes. With amazing views of Dublin Bay, Clontarf and the Port itself, the Greenway is great spot for a run, a walk, or a special first cycle this festive season.”
