Construction on the new €1.3 million Water Sports Facility in Fenit, County Kerry, has officially commenced. The project, developed by Fáilte Ireland and Kerry County Council, aims to enhance outdoor tourism.
The facility will feature hot showers, changing rooms, toilets, and secure storage. It is designed for accessibility, including a Changing Places facility and solar heating panels.
Mayor of Tralee Municipal District, Cllr. Mikey Sheehy, stated, “I am delighted to mark the start of construction on this project that will enhance the tourist experience at Fenit.”

This project is part of Fáilte Ireland’s Platforms for Growth Scheme. It aims to develop key tourism facilities across Ireland, with Fenit's facility being one of 19 set to be built.
