The former Holyhead Marina — now described as a "landing stage" — bore the brunt of Storm Claudia’s ferocious winds on the North Wales coast on Friday.
A bridge connecting to the pontoons was left noticeably askew after the blasts, while at least two boats slipped their moorings.
Owner Ed Hughes confirmed the bridge was “cock‑eyed” but insisted there was “no serious damage” at the site.
Local resident Dafydd Edwards filmed the scene and commented: “Holyhead deserves better than this cycle of storms, damage and excuses.”
The marina, which was severely damaged by Storm Emma in 2018, — when it was left with “just a few concrete pontoons behind” — escaped major devastation this time.
The incident was first reported by North Wales Live.
In May, the Welsh pontoons proved a vital berthing facility in the opening stages of the ISORA 2025 yacht racing calendar that features cross-channel races between Irish and Welsh boats.
