Tom Shanahan’s J109 Ruth secured IRC overall victory in ISORA Coastal Race 2 after a closely fought race on Dublin Bay in a recent record turnout of 22 boats.
The 2024 ISORA champion corrected out ahead of the fleet, with the two-handed JPK 10.30 Loinnir (John Malone) second and last week’s winner, the J122 Aurelia (Chris Power Smith), third.
Provisional corrected times (from the YB tracker app) show a tight margin at the top, with Ruth winning by just over three minutes on Loinnir, and a further narrow gap back to Aurelia.
On line honours, Frank Whelan's Ker 43 El Syd tfrom Greystones ook the gun, leading Johnny Treaner's NMD 43 Cristina in second and Chris Power Smith's J122 Aurelia third across the finish.
In IRC Class 0, Aurelia led home El Syd, with Cristina third.

IRC Class 1 was won by Loinnir, ahead of Paradox in second and The Big Picture third.
In IRC Class 2, Ruth took the win, with Indian second and Darling xx third.
In the two-handed division, Loinnir led the fleet, followed by No Xcuse and Katanca.
As Afloat reported previously, the 18-mile coastal course was set in light conditions, placing emphasis on positioning and boat speed across Dublin Bay.
